Hi. I’m Anette…

a college admissions pro turned Operations Director at Alma Modern

  • I’m passionate about three things: my family, my morning matcha, and helping students thrive in college. After a decade of helping students gain college admission, I noticed a significant gap—many were unprepared for the realities of college life. Having navigated the college process myself (including the bill), I know how challenging it can be to transition into the college chapter.

    At my core, I believe every student deserves the chance to succeed—not just in academics but in life. College should be a time of growth and building resilience, but too often, students feel lost in the process. I’m committed to the idea that success in college goes beyond getting a degree and is about developing confidence, learning how to overcome challenges, and building a foundation for a fulfilling future.

    I joined Alma Modern to do just that: partner with college success pros to make an even greater impact. By working together, we can create stronger systems that help students not just get by, but really thrive.

a learning center pro and educational media designer turned Founder of Alma Modern

  • EVERY student deserves the opportunity to unlock their dreams through education—but let’s be honest, most students are underequipped with the strategies they need to succeed. Once upon a time, that was me.

    As a first-gen, low-income, minority student with executive function challenges, I spent years fumbling through school, even dropping out of UCLA twice. Everything changed when I discovered how to learn effectively, be more productive, and shift my mindset around school. Those strategies transformed my life and I have dedicated myself to sharing them with others ever since so they can thrive in school and beyond.

    When I’m not learning, creating, or teaching, you’ll find me exploring a local SoCal theme park with my family or sipping espresso while daydreaming out of a window.
